Algae Based Biofuels Provide More Energy
Initial forecasts have suggested that algae based biofuels could replace as much as 70 billion litres of fossil fuel used every year.
It is recognised that a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to oil is essential in order to reduce carbon emissions sufficiently to tackle climate change. Algae might just be part of that alternative.
The Carbon Trust is launching a challenge to research ways in which algae can be produced on an industrial scale. They are currently seeking algae experts to help develop their green, algae based oil products. It is currently estimated that algae might provide 6 to 10 times more energy than conventional forms of crop derived biofuels.
Commercial algae production will require lots of sunlight and steady temperatures which means it will be most suited to the tropical and sub-tropical regions.
If you are currently considering a new car you might be surprised at how little a Mercedes leasing deal will cost. Fantastic cars at unbelievable prices.

I had no idea that Algae could be used as a fuel source. I have a pond full of the stuff – but I don’t think I’ll be filling my tank with it just yet -
