Are Hybrid Vehicles Bad for the Environment?
It has been reported that the car buying public are being hoodwinked into thinking that hybrid vehicles (which run on combined electric and either petrol or diesel) are far better for the environment than they actually are. The additional materials used in the manufacture of hybrid cars, particularly the nickel used in the batteries, is actually enormously bad for the environment.
The UK-based Environmental Transport Association (ETA) say that the most efficient petrol and diesel powered cars are slightly less bad for the environment. Hybrid technology still needs to evolve and this will only be supported if consumers invest in these vehicles which are currently more expensive to buy than their conventional counterparts.
So the answer to the question ‘Are Hybrid Vehicles Bad for the Environment?’ is yes! But so are conventionally powered vehicles, but some are less bad than others.
If you are thinking about a new car I recommend that you consider car leasing as a viable alternative to outright purchase. You will find that it can be significantly cheaper.

they are bad for the environment. I wish the oil companies and car companies work together and concentrate on making zero emission vehicles.. one can only wish!
