Driving to the Airport more Eco Friendly then getting a Lift?

Well I have booked my summer holidays and now comes the part that frustrates me every year, shall I get a lift or just take up the airport parking facilities. The reason I am saying this is because as you know I am very concerned about the environment, and I feel if someone gives me a lift that would be further damaging the environment. Ok I could take the train or bus but its not very economical as I have such a big family a lugging them all around would be a nightmare.

So I have the choice to either drive myself or get a lift from a friend. Weighing it out I think I should just go myself as I would have to only make 2 journeys one there and one back. My friend on the other hand would have to make 4 two too bring me there and then two again on the return. Anyway enough of my ranting Il just go myself 
