Eco Tour 2008 - Seat Ibiza Top for Fuel Efficiency
The Seat Ibiza has come out on top in this years gruelling Eco Tour from Barcelona to The Hague.
The Eco Tour is a 7-day tour through nine European countries. Starting in Barcelona participants visit Avignon, Lyon, Geneva, Como, Stuttgart, Luxembourg and Brussels before reaching the finish in The Hague.
The 42 teams from 14 countries use 20 participating vehicles which are divided into six categories: small vehicles, compact vehicles and family vehicles, each with diesel and petrol engines. The teams switched cars within their category and covered up to 400km each day.
The Eco Tour is organised to draw the attention of EU citizens to the most fuel efficient cars in Europe. This year’s overall winner was the SEAT Ibiza 1.4 Ecomotive with an impressive fuel consumption figure of 3.80 litre/100km. An outstanding performance that is seen as a demonstration of SEAT’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
