Laura Ashley to recycle old jewellery

Retailer Laura Ashley has teamed up with Marie Curie Cancer Care to raise money by asking the public to donate old jewellery and unwanted jewellery in a national recycling scheme running until the end of July 2008.

Laura Ashley are accepting donations of any unwanted or damaged gold, silver or costume jewellery and watches are nededed.

Items such as snapped chains, odd earrings, and broken watches will be recycled, with Marie Curie Cancer Care benefiting from a share of the proceeds. This seems like a great way to have a clear-out of all that old jewellery that you no longer need.

Come on, clear out all that old jewellery and do some good for a cracking charity as well.

The jewellery recycling scheme has been launched as part of the charity’s 60th anniversary year fundraising programme.

Founded in 1948, the Marie Curie Cancer Care was launched on the  the donation of a diamond engagement ring which raised £75 at auction, the equivalent ring today would fetch approximately £5,762.
