McCain and Obama Win or Lose on Energy Issues
It’s looking increasingly likely that the forthcoming U.S. election is likely to be won and lost on the respective energy policies of the two competing candidates.
McCain has advocated the further development of Nuclear power and the building of 45 new Nuclear power stations by 2030. He’s also strongly inclined towards further exploration for untapped oil reserves. This would involve drilling without any guarantee that there would be any return on the investment.
Obama’s policies are far more detailed than those defined by McCain. He is strongly inclined towards encouraging conservation and finding alternative, renewable sources of energy.
Whoever wins the November election will have a tough job on their hands planning their countries move away from its reliance upon petrol.
