Solar Sun Rings Provide Safe Solar Pool Heating

A swimming pool provides a great way to keep in shape and have fun in the water with friends and family. But pool ownership introduces a few headaches for any environmentally concerned owners.Solar sun rings provide effective and safe swimming pool heating without risk of entrapment

Heating the pool water is one of those headaches. Traditional swimming pool heating systems tend to use electricy. These can be expensive to run and obviously need power, adding to your carbon footprint. Whilst there are some solar-panel based heating systems these can be expensive. There are also some economical, low-tech systems that can help reduce your pool heating costs and lessen the overall impact upon the environment.

Swimming pool solar covers effectively turn your whole pool into one large solar panel, capturing the suns energy and heating the pool water. They also serve to reduce heat loss (by up to 84%) to the atmosphere and water evaporation, lessening the use of pool chemcals. They also serve to keep the pool water cleaner, reducing the need to clean or skim the pool thus further reducing energy use.

Solar sun rings have evolved from swimming pool solar covers. Like the solar covers, they capture the suns energy and convert it into heat energy, each ring producing 21000 BTU per day. Each ring measures about 5 feet in diameter and they are fitted with magnets around the circumference that enables them to stick to adjacent rings to form a raft in the pool. The magnets also make it very easy for one person to remove all of the sun rings in one go.

When comparing swimming pool solar covers and solar sun rings the safety factor must be borne in mind, as well as their energy saving capabilities. One of the primary design criteria of solar sun rings was to prevent entrapment, that can occur with traditional styles of pool covers. The size and shape (circular) of the solar sun rings has been specifically chosen to prevent the possibility of entrapment.

Solar sun rings are, without doubt, a revolutionary product. Like the swimming pool solar cover, they reduce water and chemical evaporation, keep the pool debris free thereby lessening the need for cleaning and they heat your pool water with the suns energy. They are also very cheap so why not give them a try?

These are a great passive pool heating device that work in sunlight, we have found that one of the savings includes water evaporation .
